This Waite Park senior session was such a fun one and had the perfect mix of meaningful, adventurous, and summery locations.
We started the session at her family farm, which made the evening feel personal right from the beginning. She has such a close bond with her horse, so it was really special to capture that part of her life in such a natural way. One of the coolest moments from this part of the session was getting a photo of her standing on her horse’s back. Her horse was incredibly calm and trusting, which made that image even more memorable. We also took some photos with her dog, which added another personal touch and made the start of the session feel relaxed and true to her everyday life.

After the farm, we headed to the quarries in Waite Park for a totally different look. This spot always offers so much variety, and it was the perfect setting for some more dramatic and scenic portraits. We captured a lot of wide angle shots with her sitting along the cliffside, which gave these images such a cool perspective and really showed off the beauty of the location. Those photos had such a striking feel and added something really unique to her gallery.

We also made our way down closer to the beach area, where we got some fun photos with her splashing around in the water. These ended up being some of my favorites because they felt so carefree and full of summer energy. They brought a playful, relaxed feel to the session and balanced out the more dramatic portraits from the cliffs.

At the end of the session, we found a really beautiful pine forest area that gave us one more completely different backdrop. The soft light filtering through the trees made for such a pretty ending to the evening and added even more variety to her final gallery. It was the perfect final stop and gave the session a calm, natural finish.

What I loved most about this senior session was how it combined meaningful parts of her life with such beautiful scenery. Starting at her family farm with her horse and dog made the session feel deeply personal, and finishing at the Waite Park quarries gave us such a fun variety of adventurous and summery portraits. It all came together in a way that felt true to her and made her gallery so much fun to photograph.
If you are looking for a senior photographer in Central Minnesota and want a session that feels personal, natural, and full of variety, I would love to help you plan something unique to you.
