Gabby and Marc’s September wedding at White Bear Yacht Club was the perfect mix of elegant, relaxed, and genuinely fun. Set right along the lakeshore, the day was filled with beautiful weather, meaningful moments with family and friends, and so many little in between memories that made the entire wedding feel incredibly personal. From the peaceful morning in the bridal suite to sunset portraits by the sailboats and a packed dance floor later in the evening, this White Bear Lake wedding was such a memorable day to photograph.

The day began upstairs in the bridal suite at White Bear Yacht Club, which had some of the prettiest natural light and huge windows overlooking the property. The girls spent the morning relaxing together in matching robes with mimosas while finishing hair and makeup, and the entire atmosphere felt calm and joyful from the very beginning. It was such a sweet group of close friends, which always makes the morning feel even more meaningful.
Before getting dressed, I photographed all of the wedding details including the rings, shoes, invitations, and flowers. The floral arrangements were especially beautiful and tied everything together perfectly. Gabby’s dress was hanging in front of one of the large windows in the suite, which made for some really timeless and elegant detail photos before the day officially began.

After getting into her dress, Gabby shared an emotional first look with her bridesmaids before heading downstairs for one of the most memorable moments of the day. She and her dad shared their first look on the iconic spiral staircase that White Bear Yacht Club is known for, and it was such a meaningful moment between the two of them before the ceremony began.

Gabby and Marc chose to do a first look before the ceremony, which allowed them to spend some quiet time together away from the busyness of the day. After their first look, we explored the property together and took wedding portraits near the sailboats and along the lakeshore.
One of my favorite things they mentioned afterward was how much they appreciated having that small break together before the ceremony. It gave them a chance to slow down, take everything in, and actually enjoy being together for a few minutes during such an exciting day. Those quieter portrait moments always end up becoming some of the most meaningful parts of the wedding day experience.

The ceremony took place outdoors along the water on a perfect September afternoon. The weather could not have been better, and the lakeside setting at White Bear Yacht Club created such a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony. It was short, sweet, and filled with so much excitement from family and friends.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour by the lake before heading into dinner and speeches inside the reception space.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour while the reception space was being finished. Before dinner began, I photographed the place settings, reception details, and a few candid moments, including the wedding party gathering for a celebratory shot together.

Later in the evening, we snuck back outside with the wedding party for more relaxed and playful group photos around the property. The bridesmaids and groomsmen brought so much energy and personality to this part of the day.
One of my favorite moments was when the guys climbed onto the playground equipment and posed on the slide and monkey bars. Those unplanned, fun photos always end up being some of my favorites because they show the real personality of the day.

After wedding party photos, I spent a few quiet minutes with Gabby and Marc for sunset portraits along the water. It gave them another little breather together before heading back into the reception, and the September sunset made everything feel extra romantic.

The dance floor stayed busy throughout the night, and the whole evening felt like such a joyful celebration.
Later on, Gabby and her dad stepped outside together to share a cigar as part of a longtime family wedding night tradition. It was such a personal and meaningful way to end the evening.
