There is something so special about summer senior sessions in Central Minnesota. Warm evenings, soft light, quiet lake views, wildflowers, and locations that feel relaxed without being too overdone.

For this senior session, we used a mix of lakeside portraits, wooded paths, brick textures, and wildflower areas, which gave the final gallery a natural, summery feel while still feeling personal to her. I loved how much variety we were able to create in one evening without the session feeling rushed or overly posed.

For senior sessions, I love choosing locations that give us a few different looks while still keeping everything cohesive. This session had that perfect mix of soft and simple lakeside photos, natural greenery, and a little bit of texture from brick and architecture.

The dock and water photos were some of my favorites from the evening. They felt calm, effortless, and very Central Minnesota in the best way.

Senior Photos That Feel Relaxed and Personal

One of my biggest goals with senior photography is helping each senior feel comfortable in front of the camera. Most people do not know exactly what to do with their hands or how to pose, and that is completely normal.

I give direction throughout the session, but I also leave room for movement, natural expressions, and little in-between moments. Those are usually the photos that end up feeling the most like you.

A Variety of Locations Throughout the Session

One thing I always love incorporating into senior sessions is a variety of backgrounds and scenery throughout the evening. Having a mix of locations helps the gallery feel more personal and gives seniors a wider range of images without needing multiple sessions.

For this session, we included wooded trails, open grassy areas, wildflowers, lakeside views, and more textured backgrounds throughout Central Minnesota. I loved how each location brought a completely different feel to the photos while still keeping everything soft, natural, and cohesive from start to finish.
